Google at the pumps?
11/08/2007 - 11:06:15 pm
Google is teaming up with gas pump maker Gilbarco Veeder-Root to dispense travel information at the pump. According to The Associated Press, the pumps will have Internet connections and a small screen that displays directions for getting to local landmarks, hotels and airports. The customer can scroll through the information and get a printout.
The devices are expected to show up on thousands of pumps beginning next month, and eventually, the companies hope that customers will be able to type in a specific address and get a printed-out map.
