Four ‘Convoy for a Cure’ events set to roll in October
08/24/2009 - 2:42:14 pm
The month of October will be a busy one for many OOIDA members who plan to participate in four ‘Convoy for a Cure’ events – three in Canada and one in Dallas, TX – to raise money for breast cancer research.OOIDA member Rachèle Champagne organized the first “Cure” convoy a year ago in Ontario, Canada. Her initial convoy’s success has inspired other women truckers to host convoys in their areas as well.
OOIDA Life Member Cindy Stowe of Wills Point, TX, is launching the first ever “Cure” convoy in the U.S. on Oct. 24 at Willie’s Place in Carl’s Corner, TX. Following the convoy, honky-tonk singer Johnny Bush, along with OOIDA member and singer Leland Martin, will be performing that evening.
