All but one of the state’s 83 Class I, Class II and Class III rest areas have reopened in Minnesota.

Officials with the Minnesota Department of Transportation confirmed to Land Line Now that the one remaining closed is the Goose Creek rest area, located at milepost 154 on Interstate 35. The rest area sustained storm damage in early July shortly after the shutdown began.

The sites were closed on or before July 1 as part of the government shutdown that crippled the state. During the shutdown, truck drivers were scrambling to find critical parking and reported that truck stops were full during the 20-day shutdown.
