Truckers who travel Interstate 75 in Pasco County, FL, may notice that two new rest areas, which were torn down more than a year ago, have now reopened.

One new rest area includes 58 truck parking spaces at the northbound site, located at mile marker 278, north of State Road 56 at exit 275. The southbound rest area, also at mile marker 278, now has 53 truck parking spaces and is located south of County Road 54 at exit 279.

Both sites feature picnic pavilions, vending machines and paved dog walk areas, as well as fully-enclosed dog parks.

According to the Florida Department of Transportation, the rest area reconstruction project cost $25.1 million.
