It will be another month before the Missouri Department of Transportation releases the name of the site selected to receive an additional 60 truck parking spaces along Interstate 70. DeAnne Rickabaugh, who is MoDOT’s community relations coordinator, told Land Line on Monday, June 4, that “strong consideration is being given to adding the 60 spaces to an existing truck parking location along I-70,” but that a final decision is still about a month away.
The current rest areas along I-70 include Concordia, Boonville, Wright City and the Chain of Rocks Welcome Center.
In November 2011, MoDOT received a $1 million grant from the Federal Highway Administration to build new truck parking spaces along the I-70 corridor.
