Wausau Sub-Station Set To Open
On August 8, Watkins Motor Lines will open a sub-station in Wausau, WI, to improve its service and expand its customer base in that area. Operationally, the sub-station is an extension of the company`s terminal in Green Bay; and it will have an account executive and two P&D drivers permanently assigned to it. Once open, the sub-station will allow the company to improve its service standards by one day for customers shipping their freight into and out of Wausau and its surrounding municipalities.
With annual revenues approaching $1 billion, Watkins Motor Lines is one of the nation`s largest privately-held, less-than-truckload carriers. It currently has approximately 10,000 employees and contractors, operating 3,200 company and contractor-owned tractors and 10,000 trailers.
